Tesco has announced that customers taking out a car insurance policy with the company will receive a free gift card. Tesco has announced a new deal for customers when they take out a car insurance policy with the supermarket giant. New customers with Tesco car insurance will now receive a £20 Tesco Gift Card when they arrange cover with the company. Gift cards can be used at any Tesco store or petrol filling station in the UK and the offer is open to all new customers purchasing a car insurance policy online or over the telephone from February 15th 2006 to April 30th 2006. The gift cards can be used to

purchase "anything from petrol to pet food" and consumers applying for car insurance quotes online will receive an additional ten per cent discount. Tesco Personal Finance is the financial services arm of the Tesco supermarket chain and now provides more than 1.4 million drivers in the UK with car insurance, offering savings of up to 25 per cent compared with other insurers. A recent study by Churchill car insurance found that estate agents are the most accident prone drivers in the UK, closely followed by community nurses and doctors, restaurant owners, chefs and social workers.
