Motorists claim increasing numbers of speed cameras are pushing up car insurance costs.

Speed cameras and anti-speeding measures on UK roads are not going down well with law-abiding motorists, as they are causing car insurance premiums to rise.
Despite the simple fact that by not speeding, people will not get caught by speed cameras, many still see them as an attempt by authorities to collect more money from road users.
Over a third of motorists in a survey by car insurance provider Tesco felt that speed cameras did nothing to help road safety, with most becoming annoyed that car insurance costs are rising as a result.
One in five drivers now has at
least three points on their licence, compared to just one in seven in 2003. This means over a third of motorists cannot find a cheap car insurance quote.
Allan Burns, head of Tesco Car Insurance comments: "British motorists have always been honest and vocal when asked about their feelings towards the increase in the number of speed cameras.
"But it's worrying that many now feel they are struggling to balance the desire for safer roads with the impulse to protect their own licence."
Even HTML clipboardmore worrying is the fact that one in ten drivers does not admit their blackened driving licence to their car insurance provider, which invalidates their policy.
