Direct Line offers multicar motor insurance discount

Direct Line has offered a ten per cent discount on each additional car on its multicar car insurance policy. Britons who own more than one car can benefit from a new multi-car motor insurance policy from Direct Line. Motorists who take out a car insurance policy with Direct Line will be able to benefit from a ten per cent discount for any extra vehicles they include on the policy, up to a maximum of ten. For example, a family of four, each driving their own cars, would benefit from a 40 per cent discount on the cost of the overall policy. The car insurance provider's discount will apply to anyone living at the

same address, related or not, as well as named drivers on another Direct Line car insurance policy, regardless of where they live. Emma Holyer, spokesperson for Direct Line said: "It doesn't seem to matter how much it costs to buy and keep a second car Brits still love them. "We have turned into a nation of car fanatics foregoing fun activities in order to get our next set of flashy wheels." A Direct Line car insurance survey has found that 85 per cent of UK households now have more than one car. Ms Holyer added: "The two-car household is now more likely to be the three or four-car household with the costs of owning cars running into thousands." The policy is open to all new and existing customers looking for a cheaper car insurance quote.
