Anti-skid warning for car insurance customers

Britain's roads are not skid-proof, potentially causing accidents and raising car insurance costs. British motorists are being warned of the dangers of driving on slippery roads, after a new report outlines the condition of the nation's highways. Although the report from the Department for Transport (DfT) has claimed the condition of Britain's roads is improving, drivers are still being warned over the poor anti-skid qualities of carriageways, reports What Car?. And skidding drivers are also having to pay more on their car insurance, as many have to use up their no-claims discount, meaning any future car insurance quote will be higher than their current premium. in the country currently falls below the DfT's investigatory levels for anti-skid, which is a rise of one per cent since the last report. However, drivers in London are most at risk, according to the report, as the number of suspect anti-skid surfaces in the capital has risen by ten per cent. In other city areas, 28 per cent of roads have worrying levels of anti-skid protection, up two per cent from the last survey.
